I looked out of my window, this evening, and saw this beautiful Moon.
The Worm Moon: March 5, 2015
It’s still too cold and snowy for the earthworms but with a partly cloudy sky you
should get a peak at the full
moon tonight. The full moon is Thursday
afternoon at 1:05 p.m. EST. Every full moon is given a name.
This one is the Full Worm Moon.
“In this month, the ground softens
and the earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of the robins. The more
northern tribes called this the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows
signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover
becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon,
marking the time to tap maple trees, is another variation.”
